Here's mine:

At the start of the GNR, penned in like cattle, the starting gun had gone and we were edging our way nearer to the start line, the chap on my right was fiddling around with a very expensive looking ipod touch and as we began to jog forward he lost his grip of said gadget which dropped to the floor and seperated into it's various components.
The 'crunch, crunch, crunch' of these parts under many feet was horrifying and hilarious at the same time, there was no way on earth he'd have been able to stop, let alone retrieve his precious ipod.

I was amazed at how many people had them on despite them being banned, there were quite a few ambulances having to come through with the heat and exhaustion and a few individuals literally had to be yanked out of the way because they couldn't hear a thing.

They just miss out on all the amazing atmosphere! I do sometimes listen to music when training but not in a race

Well I've got a great one from this Wednesday's training session.
Off we set from the cricket club, down new line and up into Carverley. I was in the middle of the group so felt quite happy following the hi viz vests of the leaders (I didn't know the route)

Part way through Carverley I noticed the hi viz vests were on the other side of the road so I crossed at the crossing to be met with a cheery "How you doing, ok?" by the 2 runners.

Followed them all the way down to the roundabout by the Olive Tree restaurant at which point they took a left to head up into Horsforth.

It was at this point I realised I'd been following the wrong bloody runners!

So, off I set, back the way I came, hoping to bump into some of our lot. Despite seeing many other runners out the Eccleshill gang were long gone so I decided it was best to just double back the way I'd come and run straight back to the cricket club rather than risk going the wrong way on my own up some dark street.

How daft did I feel back at the club?
